Milestones & Century Marks

In the early stages of my weight loss after my divorce, I was once told by a woman I had met “you’re my type personality wise but not physically”. I don’t even remember her name but I’ll never, ever forget that encounter or those words.

Well, today I hit 100 lb lost since my journey began three years ago. My last measured weight the last time at a Dr. in 2016, before my divorce, was 265 (I’m sure I was over that since). Over the past 1.5 yrs or so I’ve came within 5 lb of that 100 mark a few times but couldn’t hit it.

But the mowing this season definitely helped move that 5 lb. mountain. Outside of my actual career, I do handyman and lawn service. Four yards (all pushed mowed due to not being able to get my ZT through a fence), gutter cleaning and some mulching. Oh, and chasing an elderly lady’s dog down a sidewalk.

My second yard I arrive to I see 15 bags of mulch. This gal uses grass clippings as weed control. Her and I have been fighting the purple clover stuff. She told me to stretch it so I did and even thin, it changed the entire dynamic of it, lemme tell ya.

After, I show up to another house to clean some gutters. This after three mows at this point. I almost put it off until next weekend yet something nudged me to go. I pull up in front of her elderly neighbors house and the owner comes out and starts yelling “are you going to mow my yard too” as she saw my equip. and signage. I get those jokes once in a while and thought she too was joking around.

Suddenly this tiny dog darts out her door, she is freaking out and cussing and this dog is high tailing it down the sidewalk. She’s screaming “catch my dog”. So I run after it, whistle, it stops and comes right to me. She acted like she saw a miracle (I’m sort of a dog whisperer). Told me mowing kids haven’t been showing up and she wants reliability and weekly. She no longer needs the kids service after today.

My body feels half broken but in the process, I reached a milestone that I’ve been trying to hit for a veeery long time AND landed another lawn. A good day to end a crummy week (that story to come). Oddly enough I’ve never been asked for a card more than today either. Noted!
